Review: Successful start of the QKG basic course “Cartilage Specialists” in Graz

Last weekend, Graz became the center of cartilage regeneration. The first basic QKG course “Cartilage Specialists QKG” — an initiative of the Cartilage Repair & Joint Retention Quality Group (QKG) — brought together orthopedic surgeons, physiotherapists and experts from all over Austria.

Hyaluronic acid in the focus of regenerative medicine

A highlight of the program was the presentation by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Stefan Nehrer, MSc, on the subject”Hyaluronic acid — an important factor in cartilage treatment”. In particular, the importance of hyaluronic acid in regenerative medicine was examined.

Austrian launch of the TiphyHealth® therapy app

This was followed by the official Austrian launch of the therapy app TiphyHealth® instead of. The app offers a digital solution for structured aftercare in the musculoskeletal system. Developed in close cooperation with specialists from the Quality Group Cartilage Repair & Joint Retention e.V., TiphyHealth® enables individualized treatment plans combined with modern digital patient management. It was presented by Dr. Wolfram Steens and Hendrik Bernard.

Practice-oriented workshops

In addition to well-founded specialist presentations, the course focused on practical workshops. The participants were given insights into modern treatment approaches such as:

  • nanoFX® and HyaloFast® for matrix-augmented bone marrow stimulation
  • Autologous chondrocyte transplantation with Spherox®
  • Use of innovative tools such as Chondrectome® for defect preparation

Interdisciplinary collaboration for sustainable joint maintenance

The basic course impressively showed how long-term joint maintenance can be promoted through interdisciplinary cooperation and modern medicine.
