Knee+Ski 2025 — expert knowledge and innovations in knee surgery

From February 19 to 23, 2025, the premiere of the Knee+Ski Congress took place in Fieberbrunn — a new, international specialist event that brought together experts in knee surgery. The innovative format offered a practice-oriented combination of specialist lectures, case discussions, expert panels and workshops, supplemented by a varied sports medicine supporting program.

Scientific exchange and current developments

The congress provided a platform for experts to present and discuss current developments and research results in knee surgery.

The main topics included tibial head fractures, osteotomy procedures, patellofemoral instabilities and innovative approaches in cruciate ligament surgery. The interactive sessions and workshops enabled an in-depth examination of established and new therapeutic approaches.

Workshop on autologous cartilage therapy with spheroids

A particular highlight of the congress was the Lunch workshop on autologous cartilage cell transplantation with Spherox®. Edited by Dr. Florian Obwegeser Participants were given a detailed introduction to this regenerative procedure for treating knee cartilage damage. Spherox® is an innovative, joint-preserving approach for the regeneration of cartilage tissue and has proven to be promising in orthopedic surgery.

In addition to imparting theoretical knowledge, participants were also given the opportunity to test the process in practice on knee models. This offered valuable insights into the application of the method and directly demonstrated the clinical benefits.

Practical insights and sports medicine supporting program

In addition to the main scientific topics, Knee+Ski 2025 also offered a varied sports program that promoted informal exchange among participants. LVS training, biathlon workshops and guided skiing and cross-country skiing activities offered the opportunity to combine theoretical content with practical experience.

The successful combination of scientific exchange, practice-oriented workshops and a sports medicine supporting program made the Knee+Ski Congress a valuable platform for experts in orthopedic medicine.
